BCT15X channel ID issue

Hello, everyone; this is my first post to the forum pages. I'm also a new member to the site.

On my BCT15X, when I try to setup a channel in a group, in dec format, the group ID that I input results in a "Bad TGID". I'm trying to set channels in the individual talkgroups for the Arlington, TX Fire Dept.

For example; the talk group Arl FD Disp should have a (dec) ID of 53520. Yet when I try to set the channel ID as such, it results in the error "Bad TGID"

Any advice? I am SURE I have overlooked something, but I don't know what.......

Are you using software and if so which one?

Make sure that system has decimal format selected.

Got to Menu>Select System>Edit System Options>Set ID Format>Select Decimal

No software; doing it manually

Evo; I am not using software yet, just entering everything manually.

W8RMH; I have checked that, and I still have the error.

Do you have the system programmed as Motorola Type II and the frequencies programmed? Have you had this problem entering any other talk groups?

Problem solved!

Hooked it up to my PC with the cable supplied, programmed in the Arlington site using the Freeware. Piece-o-cake!

I will be supporting the freeware.....
