BCT8 Firmware upgrade

Hi,

I did a firmware upgrade on my BCT8 today and got a Checksum error at the end of the process.
Im using a direct com port and have tried all speeds.

Is there any solution for this? Also mine is a New Zealand model - UBCT8

You cannot use a "BCT8" firmware on a "UBCT8" scanner.

Do you know where i can get a copy of the original firmware?

It's not available, your going to have to return the radio to Uniden service agent to get it restored.

hi I unfortunately did the same thing with the same result to my ubct8 I was wondering what your outcome was and if there was a solution I contacted uniden au and nz both had no firmware available thanks vince

How many other ubct8 scanners have lost their firmware. Mine has gone also as I didn't see this thread earlier before trying to update using the bct8 reband firmware. I hope someone has a solution to this problem as the local Uniden agent was unable to help and my favorite scanner is mute.

yes boo uniden I was also very happy with the scanner and have ended up buying a ubcd396xt to replace it I find it hard to believe that a company that produced the firmware originally don't have a copy in an archive somewhere it seems a waste of a good set being used as a paper weight.
