BCT8_How to verify Firmware Upgrade?

My BCT8 has arrived and the seller claimed that the Firmware upgrade has been done. How do I verify this?

I have a BCT8 and I don't think there is a way to verify. You could always do the upgrade yourself to be sure. Read the instructions on how to do it though. You have to hold some buttons at the same time while powering the unit on before you can flash the FW.

The latest upgrade for that scanner is 06/07/2006 so I do not know if that scanner supports the rebanding.

Actually that's not correct. I just did the rebanding update to mine a few weeks ago.

Okay...

I did the Firmware upgrade. Piece O' Cake....it is St. Patty's day, you know.

Now....

Programming....I have ARC8, cable, manual and several brain cells.

What is the best way for me to program NJ State Police Trunked system?

Freq's and Control Codes and ID's. I'm lost.

Okay...

I programmed in each of the freq's, including the Control freq's, then Programmed in the Talkgroups that I want to listen to. Then hit SRCH.....nothing so far.
