Hi
This is my first post here. I was a ham since a kid, but gave it up when tubes faded away into transistors in about 1980.
I now live in Corvallis, OR, and recently purchased a BearCat 100xlt to listen to local ham repeaters. I found that this "bargain" has a burned charging circuit and bad batteries, but will still work with the charger connected, which is OK for my purpose.

I figured out, by trial and error, how to enter a frequency, but that is all I can come up with. I can't make it scan all entered frequencies, nor can I make it directly go to a certain entered frequency, without manually stepping it thru all banks.

I assume this has been asked before, but I was unable to turn up anything in the "search" feature, so, here is my question - where does one obtain a manual or user instructions for this unit? (apparently, the sources listed are no longer valid, and the sites go nowhere.)

I made my first ham gear myself. But I opened this unit up, and dont have the slightest idea how to work on it:)

100 channels of FUN

Hi

I figured out, by trial and error, how to enter a frequency, but that is all I can come up with. I can't make it scan all entered frequencies, nor can I make it directly go to a certain entered frequency, without manually stepping it thru all banks.

Hit SCAN and hit keys 1 ~ 0 - Observe display.

Each key, 1 ~ 0 enables a bank of 10 channels. To toggle banks on and off, hit SCAN. As you press buttons 1 ~ 0 you will see the tiny LCD indicators toggle on and off to indicate that they are enabled.

To go to a certain channel, like 37, press MANUAL - 37 -MANUAL.

To program channel 62, press MANUAL - 62 - MANUAL - 162.4 - E for ENTER.

For SEARCH from 155.00 to 156.00 - Press MANUAL - LMT 155.00 ENTER LMT 156.00 ENTER LMT SEARCH.

The UP and DOWN looking buttons search up or down.

The first channel in each bank is PRIORITY, so when PRI button is pressed, it will scan all PRIORITY channels in enabled banks.

L/O = Lockout.

I give you this from memory, as it is likely close to the operation of my BC2500XLT.

Remember when it was this easy?

To program sequential channels, MANUAL - 155.00 - ENTER - MANUAL - 155.37 - ENTER - MANUAL, Etc.

Anything else?
