bearcat 210xl

i found my dads bearcat 210xl and I tried it but I cant get it to pick up any channels. i programmed channels near me but no luck

Could be a number of things going on. Those are old radios and who knows what's happened over the years.

I'd suggest trying the NOAA weather radio channels and see if that works:
162.400
162.425
162.450
162.475
162.500
162.525
162.550

Make sure the antenna is connected and fully extended. You may also want to take it outside in case building construction or interference is causing the issue.

I had one of those and when it heated up the circuit board warped.

I had to re-seat the chip on the circuit board for it to work again. Try that.

No huge loss if it doesn't work. It's old!

Did you test both antenna connections: the external RCA connector or the whip antenna input on the main board?

You could use a screwdriver. Really anything metal should work. Then try the local Weather Service frequency
