I recently purchased a Bearcat 885, everything is working great. I really enjoy it. I currently own a Whistler Handheld Digital Trunking Scanner. I reside in the state of KY and my Whistler Scanner picks up the KY State police frequency. Is there any reason why the Bearcat 885 does not receive KY State police Frequency's. If it can pick up the State police frequency's what process do I need to complete for this to happen? Is there software that I can use to input said frequency's.

Thank you in advance for your time and support,

Hi & welcome to the forums!
If the database is accurate, Kentucky State Police operate on P25 conventional UHF frequencies. According to the specs given on Pages E-31 & E-32 of the user manual, the Beartracker 885 should cover the range 320.0000-512.000mhz (KSP operates between 453-460mhz UHF) & also decodes P25. Might be something missing with your programming. I'm not familiar with the 885's operation so I'd suggest skimming through the manual I provided to cover all your bases

What frequency are you referring to?

All of the frequencies shown on this page are encrypted.

The DE means full time encryption.

Please post a link to the database for the frequencies you are referring to.

If you are referring to the frequencies @Whiskey3JMC posted, check your programming
Thank you as well it appears that radioreference PEPS are very nice and helpful..
