Bearcat BC6000XLT problems

OK, don't laugh, it has been a good scanner for me. Recently, it stopped recieving anything. I realized that the display was lit, but no information was displayed. First question: has anyone else experienced this? Second question: Does anyone know where I can obtain a servise manual for it. I have looked around, but I think the 600XLT was a custom produced machine for a certain vendor. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Contact me at : n3hzz@aol.com.

Bearcat BC600XLT

If I recall correctly, the Bearcat BC580/590/600 were pretty similar. Is this a 100 channel analog scanner with 5 banks of 20 channels each? I can't recall the differences. I think some had the optin for the switches and preamp and/or CTCSS decoder, much like the BC760, etc.

I would check with G &G and directly with Uniden as well. At one time Uniden had a simple flat rate for repair. I am not sure what they are doing now,. however.
