I live in a county that only has 4 frequencies 1 DMR and 3 analog. What I would like to know can I just program these frequencies in from the front panel or would I have to use the software and for the dmr frequency would it automatically decode it if I enter it from the front panel?

As long as you are ready to cope with the fact that you will be listening to *every users* on the dmr channel, without any means to “filter out” the ones you would like to *not* hear, then yes this scanner can allow you to do that with only keyboard programming.
