Hello, I am new to this forum.

I have a Bearcat Sportcat Model No. 150B.

I have had it for years now and still do not receive practically anything. Please advise what I can do. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

What do you listen to? You should be able to get the NOAA Weather channel easy in the 162-163MHz range.
Try a search between 154 and 156 MHz, you should hear police, fire, and medical when they are active.
Do you have any other antenna? Your local Radio Shack should have additional antennas available for about $20 or less.

Do you have the correct Frequencies programmed in? Where are you located so that we can take a look in the database?

I listen to anything I can get on this scanner but get nothing.

I am located in New Jersey. I will look into Radio Shack antennas.

Might not be a matter of the antenna as much as what frequencies you are trying to hear things on, and what is active in your particular area. You should use the link "RR Database" at the top of the page and navigate to New Jersey and then to your county to see what services are available and what freqs they use. That will give you a starting point. You may also want to check out the New Jersey forum as well at
