Anyone have any information on a BEE00.AF8 system in VIC Australia? I have no further info other than that system ID. Just curious if anyone on these forums knows what the system might be?

Is it safe to assume that the DSDPlus server only queries system info for systems in the United States?
658 is Australia as well as one of the two 164 systems.

AF8 appears to be the TasGRN Network from what I've been told Tasmanian Government Radio Network

Thank you. That's interesting. Sounds like TasGRN does precisely what TMRS ( TMRS (P25) Trunking System, Multiple, Tasmania ) does. At least I see Police, Fire, EMS and Aurora Energy on TMRS.

Looks like nobody has submitted any information to the RRDB for BEE00.AF8. That's too bad. I know it says that TasGRN is all encrypted. All the more reason why people should search out sites and submit it to the DB. There is no downside, since they are already encrypted.

Yeah, I don't think there would be too many people that would get down that way. Its the same issue I face up here in QLD with a fully encrypted network (they're actually designed and built by the same company). Interesting that there seems to be more aliases transmitted OTA.

One day I'll get down that way and do some logging, but flights+accom (and have to tie in a holiday to keep the wife and kids happy I guess) and time are all scarce

I can understand that. Well, I appreciate all you do to gather data, and appreciate others that do the same.

Thanks again for the info!

With the TASGRN (P25), this is what we have found:
Police, fire, ambulance and SES = 100% encrypted.
Forestry, Parks and Wildlife plus Aurora / Tas Networks seem to use a mix, with some being "in the clear".

I had a UBCD436PT which I purchased, based on the new network coming online. I was "happy" to accept the police and even the ambulance going encrypted but when we lost the fire and SES plus a lot of the other users, I could not justify it. I now scan and search mostly the UHF band, with some airband and VHF business at times.

BEE00.164 in Victoria, Australia should possibly denote MMR / RMR.

It's actually two systems interlaced as one so too speak. The Metropolitan Mobile Radio (MMR) is based on UHF and has been active since 2004/05. Whilst Regional Mobile Radio (RMR) is VHF based and is some 10 years younger than MMR having initially started life as the Country Fire Authority's Regional Radio Dispatch Service (RRDS) before the project was expanded to what it is today, with more to come.
