I'm new to this site and am interested in monitoring some of the casino frequencies on the page below.

I'm thinking these are basic analog fm frequencies, but being a true beginner, I want to make sure. What are the minimum requirements a scanner would need to monitor these? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Probably would have served you better in the Nevada state form. But it looks like there is a mixture of Motorola Smartnet and LTR in use by some also. Dont double post a mod will eventually move this. Good Scannin Hoser

Slight problem with that Randy these casinos are in Mississippi. Now asking in the Miss. forum would make more sense.

Hi chevyjim , welcome to RadioReference :)

For those freq. in the list you provided ,a non-trunking scanner that receives up to 512 MHz would do fine. That would be the bare bones solution.

The trunked systems are a different ballgame altogether and require a trunktracking scanner that should do LTR .

Thanks for the quick replies and the welcome! Now I have an idea of what I need. I plan to do some reading on this site as I get more involved in this hobby since I don't know a lot of the terminology. One last question, do they make scanner units that receive both trunked and non-trunked broadcasts?
