For those who may be interested in this tiny SW receiver:

I'm pleasantly surprised at its performance and have been making A/B comparisons with it and my IC-705. Hoping to post the video of those soon.

Hi @ae5x and thanks for posting about the Belka-DX! I will be interested in seeing what else you have to say about that small package.

Also, you have been a member of Radio Reference for about 11 years and this is your first post? Wow! You are one serious lurker! :ROFLMAO:

I don't remember reading about this, but is that LiPo battery soldered in place, or can it be replaced if it eventually fails (all batteries do...)? I'd hate to have a dead radio just because of the battery

Hi Dave - I hope to post the later this weekend, but I remain impressed with the performance. I have ordered the optional back panel containing a speaker, however my emails asking if it's been shipped are unanswered. A completely different buying experience than the radio itself was...

It could be that they are overwhelmed by the response. As the word spreads, their sales will go up exponentially and so will their eMail volume. They may not have expected this surge. Do you know what their manpower is as a company? Probably fairly small...

EU1ME is a member here; but I suspect being in Belarus that his internet may be somewhat limited.

By the way I have asked for this thread to be merged with the following, and made a sticky...

I hope the moderators don't do that - they are two different receivers.

The reference to DSP in the other thread isn't referring to the title of the radio, rather the technology used.

I now have a tracking number for the speaker-back. When it arrives I'll load test both batteries at the Belka's rate so I'll know how long each will last before the voltage falls to a level at which I no longer want to discharge a LiPo. I'll post that here then.

I just ordered mine last night. I have been using a Kaito 1103 and a Grundig Satellit 800. I have gotten great reception with both of those and a long wire. The Belka will come in handy when we go to the mountains at the end of the month if it gets here by then.
