Bell County Deputy Sean Pursifull and his partner King... End of Watch 10 Jan 2008.
Deputy Pursifull was parked along U.S. 119 in Bell County waiting to join the pursuit
of two teens who slammed into his cruiser. The teens were accused of driving off after
pumping gas at a station across the Harlan County line, they are charged with murder
of a police officer and with assault on a service animal.

Deputy Pursifull leaves behind a wife, two daughters and a mourning community.

Wow how Sad, I did not realize fallen police officers killed in the line of duty had to pay for their own funerals? That's insane..Why isn't the county paying?

Lee, I agree with you on that. But also the state will step in and help as well since it was an in the line of duty death.

They also might not have the support of the community businesses such as in Jefferson County. I think Owens Funeral Home provides free service and Six Flags over Jesus allows for usage of their facility as well.

May God be with his family, both blood and blue. Pray for the Dispatchers that had to work the incident and relive it everytime someone called in wanting to know what happened, and probably finished their shift with as much professionalism as they could muster without breaking down.
