Plenty of fire departments (Port Hope and Cobourg require the DMR upgrade), the usual OPP and EMS talkgroups. I've never tried scanning there but CFB Trenton is fairly busy with air traffic often, lots of training exercises.

Here's some relevant database pages to browse.

I've just moved to the Belleville Ontario area and I do have a new discone antenna. I have an older scanner, I use BCD396T.
Thanks

It wouldn't hurt to try and program some New York State frequencies either. Monroe, Oswego, Jefferson counties. You may be surprised with what your discone will receive.

What are you listening to and what type of scanner you using? What type antenna you using?

Thanks
Currently using an HP2 & Radio Shack Pro-94. At home, I just have a Diamond telescopic and in the vehicle I have a pretty cheap wideband antenna.
Picking up OPP Zone 2, many fire departments as far as Trent Hills, Rail, Air, Public Works, Military, just to name a few.

I used to live in Madoc and worked as a printer for the Belleville Intelligencer, but I remember picking up Rochester in the winter time. There is not much around there so there is not much to listen to. Everything is spread out.

For whatever reason, I never pick up Belleville Fire Station 1 and 2 through the RadioReference database. Earlier tonight, I picked up Station 1 through a random NY State freq (150 range or something). Even Station 3 and 4 via the RadioReference database comes through sometimes as if it’s encrypted, not sure why?
