Belmar To Dispatch Spring Lake Heights

Per an article in the printed edition of today's Asbury Park Press, Belmar has been awarded a five year contract to dispatch for Spring Lake Heights Borough. No starting date was given. Spring Lake Borough currently dispatches for the Heights. Police are currently dispatched on the Spring Lake Borough police frequency and fire is dispatched on the Heights fire frequency. No frequency information with regards to Belmar doing the dispatching was given in the article, so it's not known whether Belmar will dispatch them on the Belmar PD frequency or on the Heights old PD frequencies, PD 1 dispatch 470.3125 (Repeater) and 470.3875 (PD 2 Simplex). They're licensed for them through 6/16/2013. I guess the best thing to do would be to program the Heights PD frequencies and wait and see what we here and where. I would assume fire will still be dispatched on the Heights fire frequency.

Not necessarily. Belmar also dispatches Lake Como PD on the Lake Como PD frequency, which is UHF (400 MHz) so their system is already set up for UHF as well as VHF.

The change has been made. Belmar is now dispatching SLH PD on 470.3125 DPL 371. Info along with the Channel 2 car to car frequency has been posted in the database here.
