Belt Clip Hanger Broke?

The little circle clip Hanger on the back of my BCD436HP seems to have broken off. The screw does not hold in place when I tried putting it back, and falls right back out. There was a small amount of black plastic around the base of the screw that seemed to be from the Hanger piece. Is there a way to fix this - use a longer screw or something, or can that damage the scanner? I guess the best bet would be to get a case with its own clip, but I liked being able to clip it to my shorts when in the house.

Get one of the cases from Scanner Master- the clip on the case is much sturdier and the case will protect your radio. Well worth the ivestment.

Uniden parts will sell you a back piece - or used to, because I've been there, done that.

A new button won't solve a stripped hole. And a longer screw will damage the circuit board.

Get the scanner master case. It's way sturdier, the belt hardware is all metal.

I don't see any easy fix here except as others have said: buy the case from Scanner Master. They have several grades, but I recently purchased the hard leather case and its strong as can be. Good clip on back as well. Greg
