Noted that it's from the FCC site.

Seriously, if an agency decides to go encrypted because of information posted on this site, then they probably need to evaluate their leadership.

Any agency that uses Encryption there leadership should also be also questioned.

The System has 2 units out testing from different locations sounds like they are driving around Mahwah & Montvale calling in locations to the new comm center. They are doing 1 to 5 counts.

today heard in building testing, comes in on both systems, which is not listed on RR, last week there was some testing on TG 1,2,3, but today was only on tg1 comes in better for me than thier 'old' channel 1
and encryption is free and already in the radios Motorola sells, any agency just has to have it program to on, IF they want it
Leonia PD was to order UHF trunk radios to use on the county system

ScanXO,

It would be quite helpful if you would submit any information about this trunked system especially any info which is not listed on RR, it would help us better track and update the DB as new information becomes known.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks:D!

The underlining is a mute point. The thing here is that this Bergen County Trunk System is a Work in Progress. The quicker members submit updated information the sooner it can added to the DB. Thats all..
Hey, thanks anyway for your input..it all helps in the long run!

Talkgroups like 1,2 and 3 are testing talkgroups and from what I_'m hearin aren't going to be a permament part of the trunk system, you might want to note that in the database.

Thanks Jaymatt for confirming what i thought were the frequencies of the second site which I thought was submitted here on RR awhile ago; anymore talk groups? other than the 3 you listed?
And to the above post, a year ago or more the County had approached OEM as well as fire coordinator in my area and gave them radios on the county system with the intent of going on the trunk system - over a year ago, so i guess they wil be included

i wonder if this is going to be the norm for fire units? using the trunk system for special events or drills?

So went to the next town over while they were testing coverage in a high school, why test inside a high school? so i ask the ems/fd friends over there what they heard - some towns are still geting letters for access to the county system. Someone also said that recently County Officers ? found a suspect who had a cell phone "tied" into the radio system ?? he was able to listen to police calls on his phone, they were very upset how he could dail in? Local Police chiefs have said they have heard of it and what retrictions can they get keeping people out of listening- they talk of encryption if they go on the county system...alot of miss info but what is going on with the system - why in schools where County doesnt 'normally' go are chiefs technicallly challange?

Wow, 902, you mentioned 37.38! When I first got into police monitoring (no scanners yet) that was one of the frequencies I had to get a crystal for. I lived in Rockland County then and and would hear them while monitoring 37.18 on a tunable radio. I could never figure out what the long tone sequence was before an alarm was broadcast. Wish I had a recording! I did not know the transmitter was in Mahwah. Stag Hill I would guess.

That long series of tones before the Bergen County alarms served to open the receivers in all of the local police headquarters. If the county PD dispatcher just wanted to alert a single department you would hear a two tone alert followed by "Bergen County to Paramus". The local PD would answer on their own frequency, as county had monitors for all the local PD frequencies in the county. 37.38 for a time was also the frequency for local PD's including Waldwick, Saddle River, Moonachie, South Hackensack and Englewood Cliffs. The long broadcasts by county sometimes tied up the frequency for several minutes at a time interfering with local comms.

I used to live in NW Bergen and would pick up 37.18 in Rockland when I monitored 37.38 and 37.08 on my tunables.

Yes, Lowband was really alive in thoses days! With the tunable Lafayette Guardian radio I had on an outside antenna I would hear a mish mosh of them all at times. In addition to Rockland and Bergen I would hear White Plains, Mt Pleasent along with all Suffolk County PD! Used to be something to fall asleep to all that as it was non-stop and I would leave the radio on all night!
