Bill:

I experienced the same exact thing last night on my Bergen County feed. It was on 154.250 (79.7). I believe I have heard that same interference before on that channel.

Thanks - Mike

Yep happens a lot with Franklin Lakes FD, even on a commercial portable. When FDNY xmits they overload Franklin Lakes Repeater if they are both xmitting at the same time. Gotta love the genius coordinator who put them on 154.2500 knowing full well FDNY xmits at 300 Watts, and are not that far from Franklin Lakes. As for the spelling no.... heterodyne is the correct spelling.

Get off the air already!!

A number of local agencies have been licensed on "FDNY" frequencies throughout the area (Yorktown, Westchester, VAC and Cresskill FD - 154.400; Tuxedo and Cresskill FDs - 154.370 - to mention a few), but - to defend the coordinator - I'm sure that was done with the expectation that the FDNY would have vacated those channels by now with their long-promised move to the UHF-T band. The question I have is: what's taking them so long?
