If anyone is interested, Berwick Control Channel has been changed from 860.9875 to 859.9875. They have been using the new cc for a week or so now. Also I have noticed two new freq. (867.18750 & 868.05000) on the database for the Berwick site. There are also some new ones listed on the database for other sites as well. Is this for the new rebanding. It is strange that they would be placing new frequencies on the 800 sites when LATIE 700 is getting started.

All the 800 sites are still up and running.. LATIE is just now really getting started. It will be years before the entire state is LATIE'ed and the 800 can go bye bye. So it makes sense to update the system due to iether rebanding.. or to just make chnages for other reasons.

There is reason to believe that 800 MHz systems currently in use, may be partially or in entirely combined in with LATIE. Although the state does indeed plan on extending the 700 MHz sites throughout the state, there is no reason to think that all the 800 MHz systems currently in use will go away. Testing has been observed in Jefferson Parish where some 800 MHz frequencies were actually on LATIE (that is P25 CCh and announced as neighbors.)

Actually like the Sheridan site near me has both the 800Mhz and the 700Mhz freq. licensed to the same tower. Not sure if the 700Mhz ones are active as I don't have a scanner that will cover those freq. but I guess it would be safe to assume they are.

Now it's possible that once the 700Mhz system actually goes "Live" across the state and everyone gets their radios they'll get rid of the 800Mhz freq. I hope not but then again that's probably a few years away.

I didn't say that, what I said was that some systems that are existent may well be upgraded and that JP was doing just that kind of testing. I suspect the state TRS may well do away with all if their 800 MHz but I am not the guy who knows, just the guy who hears things. ;)
