Im trying diffrent setups for my 996 with CSP system. Currently I have all the sites activated and I have each troop controlled by group. I just switch groups as I drive between troops? Its ok, but i miss alot because of the time it takes to scan all the sites before it comes back with on the is monitoring the troop I want. How does everyone else have there's set up?

Well I have three different systems for CSP. The first is for when I'm at home and it monitors just Troop H dispatch and car-car. The second is for when I'm visiting in Stamford and monitors just troop G dispatch and car-car. The third is everything else with all sites and talk groups programmed. Since reception of CSP is so up in the air depending on location, the 996 usually just skips over the majority of the sites because it can't find the control channel. This is very helpful as a lot of the time the strongest signal for the troop you want to monitor is from some other site that is being simulcast.

I like the way I have it programmed because when I'm stationary I don't have to worry about locking out sites. I can just turn the system quick key on or off and it monitors only one site.
