Best Antenna for 436?

If the system(s) you're bringing in contain simulcast cells then upgrading the antenna might make simulcast distortion much worse. Read below

As Whiskey3 noted, simulcast can be a big issue.

If so, both the County Wide, as well as the Urban (City) sites are Simulcast.
There are two other sites that are not flagged as Simulcast. You might try one or both of them, though they might not carry all of the system traffic.
It is the Erie system. I tried a BNC adapter with an old antenna, and got pretty good results. I see lots of BNC adapters for sale for the 436 - can anyone recommend one that fits well? I can't find a listing for the OEM Uniden one.

The W100RX works great on my 436.
Yes. I do pick up some transmissions, but it does work better with an old antenna.
To be expected with simulcast distortion (review post #2)
I wonder how well those will work... The one I'm using has the lip cut into it to compensate for the ridge on the 100's ant socket...
So the pin actually seats properly on the 100's ant connector with this one for better connectivity...

My above post was in reference to the SDS100... The one that Dave posted might work fine on the 436...
I picked up this cheapo ant from Amazon awhile back to try...
Actually quite impressed with it's performance...
It perfoms well on the 700/800 range too...

I purchased the same antenna and can confirm that it works very well. Picks up what the ducky can't.
