Hey everyone,
I live in delaware but do a decent amount of traveling scanning with a PSR-500. i was looking for something that might give me a bit more reception rather than my 800mhz i have on it now.

i dont want to spend too much money but i want something with a good spectrum of coverage. if you could please post some links.

thanks
james

I understand you want to put it on a handheld but is a magmount out of question?

Depending on what I am doing I have one of these handy:

Works great on 800 plus lower freqs. Search the forums on that antenna to get other reviews. I use it on whatever scanner I have in the car, I take my mobile out a lot so will just hook it up to my handheld.

Other than that I use the RS 800 ducky.

magmount isnt out of the picture by any means. i used to do custom install in cars and trucks stereos, tvs, ect. so i wanna get a dc connection hooked up for my power and an antenna with more power(strength).

Larsen NMO-150/450/800 on your choice of mount will do the trick in the truck.

This is what I am going with here in a few weeks. I will just have one permanent installed radio, I will keep the Valor as well, that antenna is good.
