Best Antenna for Metro

I’ve looked online at the Forums and I’ve seen these threads but they’re not helping me. So I’m reposting it. I’m trying to find a new antenna that can help scan long distance/close also. I have a SDS100. Basically I’m able to clearly hear the HCFA and the Metro (CV, NC, etc.) channels clearly. I have some issues with CDF but can hear SDFPD channels. My main issue is when it comes to SND metro dispatch. The dispatch audio is extremely staticky and When I’m scanning SDFD metro I only get the static dispatch tones, but not other channels like 7E 7F or 8A 8B. I don’t know if this a location issue, scanner issue, or a antenna issue. But I broke my antenna and went to get a new one so any suggestions that might fix my static metro scan would be helpful. Thank you

Sounds like you have programmed in the San Diego City 800 MHz system. You need to program the San Diego City 700 MHz p25 system.

I use the Remtronix 700/800 and it works pretty well for me and I live in a small valley in Clairemont. As I have learned from this from (thanks Paul!), the 700 Mhz system is a lot weaker than it's 800 Mhz predecessor, unfortunately.

I believe there a model of this antenna specially designed for the SDS100, with a weather-proof O-ring at the bottom. Look for this one, otherwise it might not fit right. Happy Scanning!
