I recently picked up a new Pro-2096 for local trunked digital police/fire scanning and for air traffic. I don't have much problem picking up the local things I want to hear with the stock antenna but since the airpot is 25 miles or so away I do have a bit of trouble getting clear reception sometimes on the air traffic. I would like to stick an exterior antenna on the roof of the house or maybe in the attic for this and would like to some feed back on which antenna I should consider. Like I said I spent the extra money on a good scanner for the local digital stuff but I still enjoy listining to the airline and airpot traffic and thats mainly where I need the extra reception but if it could also help with the rest of the frequencies that would be a plus. Thanks for the help!

For airborne traffic? You shouldn't have too much trouble with the stock antenna.

For the airport (ground-based) transmissions? You're too far from the airport for that. Remember, their antennas are either set to transmit for a few miles (to planes on the ground) or upward. The signals going upward are at least a few miles above you, so no antenna is going to get much from them. Solid reception of an airport's transmitters is generally hit and miss (almost all miss) past about 5 miles.
