Antenna choice

The type of radio has very little to do with what antenna is best.

It is more about the bands you want, the space you have, the money you spend.

There simply is no good single answer.

Njay is right. What bands do you want to listen to? If a great majority of the activity in your area is on one band, then get an antenna specific to that one band. And Height is King. Like when you were growing up, you wanna get high.

What is the best base antenna for a Br 330t?

since this is a Uniden scanner you need a SMA connector equipped antenna per the owners manual.

"Connecting the Antenna
To attach the supplied flexible antenna to the
connector on the top of your scanner, simply screw it
onto the scanner's SMA connector.
Connecting an Optional Antenna

The scanner's SMA connector makes it easy to
connect a variety of optional antennas, including an
external mobile antenna or outdoor base station
antenna.
Note: Always use 50- or 75-ohm, RG-58, or RG-8,
coaxial cable and the supplied BNC/SMA adapter to
connect an outdoor antenna. If the antenna is over 50
feet from the scanner, use RG-8 low-loss dielectric
coaxial cable. Cable loss increases with higher frequency. "

The best scanner antenna I know of and use myself can be found here........

Diamond RH77CA Amateur HT Antenna

Or this one for home/mobil use with a BNC to SMA adapter.

I am listing to the 150 Mhz to 450 mhz bands. I have considered the Diamond D-130J and the Antenna Craft ST2, but do not know which one to go with. The Diamond is twice as much, and I really do not know if it would be worth it. I am also uncertain where to mount it, whether in my attic or to mount it above my T.V. antenna, with not knowing if I would have problems with the T.V. and scanner antenna being so close to each other. If I did mount it by the T.V. antenna how much space should I have between the two antennas?Any help or other antenna recommendations are greatly appreciated.
