Hi there,

I'm visiting LA for a few days in a week or so. Previously I've used a combo of Broadcastify/LA Captain to listen to what's happening in the areas I am in.

I'll be staying in Hollywood area, which I've never managed to properly locate on Broadcastify.

I'm keen to listen to that and LAFD/EMS. Is there a cheap scanner option that I could get and programme? With it being a short trip, I don't want to spend too much.

Or, are there other online streams I could get access to? I'd love for someone to help me out with this.

Hollywood is within the city of Los Angeles so LAFD/LAPD. The city of West Hollywood is covered by Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff. Broadcastify appears to have those feeds for those areas except for maybe Sheriff in WeHo.

Hollywood is LAPD Hollywood Division. Expect the dispatch channel to be pretty active with a lot of routine traffic. Try to find a feed with the TAC channels and Metro/SWAT for the more interesting incidents.

LA City FD dispatches EMS for the City area south of Mulholland on one channel and other file calls on Ch 7. Usually large incidents get switched to another channel and sometime there's interop with other agencies on VHF.

I don't know of any feeds other than the ones on Broadcastify, unless there are some others you know of and could point me to? That's why I was wondering if there was an affordable/programmable scanner option as well. I wish there were more LAPD feeds online, I'd love to listen to them even when I'm not in LA.
