Best civil air band scanner?

What is the "best" civil air band scanner on the market currently? Hand held or base model as I will be using it as a "base station" with the AOR-ABF125 rf filter. Alpha tags would be nice, but speed/sensitivity are more important to me.

I tried comparing sens. specs on some models but Uniden doesn't publish theirs like RS/GRE does. I was debating between a Pro-95 for alpha tags or the BC898T for speed.

What do the fellow airband listeners out there use for their listening?

My personal favorite is a BC780XLT. But it will be a little pricier than others if one could be found, because it will do milair as well as civil. And it's good at it too. I haven't had much interference with mine. It's a desk top scanner.

If you are after VHF only, then go for the Icom IC-R20. It is very good in the VHF band but seems to suffer in the UHF band from FM commecial radio desensitisation.

For VHF/UHF then the Uniden BC250D/BC296/UBC3300 are worth a look.

For a base installation you can look at a Uniden BC898T or an AOR AR8600.

Without a doubt the BEST scanner (HH) for VHF and UHF Airband Scanning is the Yupiteru MVT-7100. I have owned many scanners over the past 25 years and it is the best in this area. Unfortunetly they are not designed for or sold in the normal US market. You can find them on Ebay and I believe can order them from the UK supplier Javiation http://www.javiation.co.uk
There also was/is a supplier in Canada but their name escapes me at this time. The 7100 picks up comms in these bands that the others just don't get due to it's superior sensativity. Well, that's my 2-cents on this topic...
