Which systems/talkgroups will be the best to monitor for activities in Baltimore tonight? Don't really want to scan ALL of FIRST, just the good ones.

Thanks.

A bit late for your inquiry but MD State Police doesn’t operate in Baltimore City unless specifically requested for an incident, so don’t think MD FIRST would be heard in Baltimore City. MDTA would cover bridges and tunnels on FIRST.

MSP took over I83 JFX in Baltimore City from the City PD to free up these officers with shortage of officers.

See the link below.

Much can be received on the Baltimore site for First. A lot of stuff like distant MSP Barracks can be received with radios logged into those talkgroups.

MDTA PD patrols the I895 and I95 and has talkgroups on First.

Didn’t know about MSP taking over I83/JFX.

I use the Baltimore Simulcast site and as you said, I get a lot of traffic from surrounding area.

When I said “wouldn’t be heard” I meant MSP wouldn’t physically be in the city. I guess except for JFX.

The Baltimore cell covers Baltimore City and Baltimore County - it's the largest cell in terms of coverage area and channel resources in the system. MSP Golden RIng, MSP Westminster, MSP Waterloo, MSP JFX, MSP Bel Air, MSP Glen Burnie can all be heard off the Baltimore cell on a regular basis, as well as MDTAP and MTA Police. It's common to hear MSP traffic on neighboring sites throughout the state.
