I am looking to monitor the following system:

System Name: State of South Dakota
Location: Statewide, SD
County: Statewide
System Type: Motorola Type II SmartZone
System Voice: APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive
Sysid: 880a
CT: 105.88

What would be the best program to use for this system? It is VHF. I would perfer not to use a data slicer, would rather use the sound card. I would be running WinXP Pro. These programs are new to me, and a little confusing, but I am up for the challenge of learning something new. I know this probably sounds like a newbe question, but please go easy on me.

I would try all of them, I use T4Win on my system, but it isn't a digital system yet and it is an 800MHz MOT Type II system.

T4Win does not work properly and Rick is not going to patch it.

Unitrunker did work properly but did also have some problems, I am not sure they were ironed out by the time I left SD.

The Win32 version of Trunker, put out by the "r00t" did work properly and did not require a data slicer, just a tapped radio using a sound card input. The advantage of using that is you can start out with a "seed" of Trunker data files from the various people in SD (or even me) so that you don't reinvent the wheel. See this thread for the info and software link:

It works with this system ... (thanks to Lou for the sample recordings) ... however I can't remember if this was fixed before or after the second beta was released.

Good to hear. Thanks for the assistance. I have a digital scanner now, but will be getting an older analog base scanner from a co-worker shortly that I'm going to (attempt to) tap. Thanks again.
