I'm upgrading my radios to the new digital system in Shia.co. Not sure what radios I want to buy yet.
PSR-500 or BCD396XT. Have been researching all radios and still not sure what may work best in Shia. co. any advice about there new system would be very helpful.
THANK YOU!

Both will work fine, so make the call based on the other features you might use...

I have the RS PRO-106 (made by GRE America, basically same as the PSR-500) and it's working pretty good. I have programmed and listened to Uniden models BC296D and BCD396T. Both of the these worked good as well. The audio on the BCD396T could have been a little better. I have read in some reviews that the XT has been improved in this area. Also have notice that the Uniden scanners pickup the transmissions slightly faster. I am probably just scanning too many items in my PRO-106. As per a previous post, look at the other features the scanners offer to help you decide.

Jack Daniels 68,
Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind when I purchase my new radios.
I'm leaning towards the PSR-500 right now, although I'm still researching all my options.
I will be upgrading both my handheld and base scanners.

Sent you an e-mai to confirm proper contact.

Also, the scanner for the cnty should be busy this weekend with the annual Curwood festival.

Maybe some of the TG's assigned to the cnty that haven't been used will get some use.

That will help expand my database for Shia cnty.

Hope to hear from you soon.
