Best way to find a control channel SDS 200/ Sentinel/Proscan?

With my sds 200 I don't know if it works with needle or not but with the tacn I just went in to the search section where you can scan different bands there are 10 limit searches you can customize them to which ever band you want and as narrow or wide a search as you want I set mine to in 8 to search between 758 and 800 mhz and let it search it always locks on too my local towers control channel
