Hi all, I'm ready to take the next step with my uniden scanner. Its taking me too long to enter in all the talk group IDs manually. Since I bought my scanner used it didn't come with the programming cable. I have been reading the forums and am not sure if I should purchase the USB-1 cable or the serial one with the serial to USB adapter attached to it, I have heard mixed reviews about the USB-1 cable and driver compatibility so thats why I am also suggesting the serial cable with attachment option also. Then I suppose I need to download freescan and purchase a premium account to download the csv file from rr.com that I would import to freescan. Can anyone with this scanner or equivalent experience give me some advice please on which is the best route to take so I don't end up with something that gives me issues? Thanks as always

download freescan with a sub and import the systems right into your freescan software and then program it
it doesnt get any easier
and a radio ref sub is cheap 6 mos 15 bucks
whats it worth to not have to spend hours and hours manually entering it

when sac cnty rebanded i didnt even have to enter it manually
i downloaded the rebanded systems plans-imported it
cut the old type 2 group and pasted in the new
i had city and county systems going within literally 60 seconds
