Anyone have any idea if the police radio for Bethel Township is encrypted? The database seems to imply it's unencrypted

But on the list of encrypted agencies it says all operations are encrypted.

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer!

99.9% of their COM‘s are going to be on the county system, which is 100% encrypted for police talk groups. Their old VHF frequencies which a few of their cars still have the old radios in them are not encrypted, but probably get very little usage.

Welcome to the RR forums. Berks County Law Enforcement is 100% encrypted. The PD tac listing you're looking at is long expired (cancelled), I'm too far away to confirm or negate if it's still in use, I'd highly doubt it. Countywide law enforcement operates on the trunked radio system link I provided below as the database clearly indicates. Here's a pro tip for you: Look at the RRDB listing below & focus on the "mode" column per talkgroup table. All mode "TE" talkgroups are fully encrypted. Only mode "T" talkgroups can be monitored on this system (fire, EMS, city services, etc)

Riding by their parking lot and seeing if their cars still have VHF antennas would be a good start to determining what legacy capability, if any, these departments have.
