ONLY A DRILL... Active Shooter Reported At Walter Reed Military Medical Center

More fake news from Fox News!

FALSE! Active Shooter Reported At Walter Reed Military Medical Center

FOX even went as far as to say it was confirmed, Code White, but it was only a drill!

Was it a drill?
The way units are responding and how its being covered sounds more like a bad report of a shooter.

The situation at Walter Reed was an EXERCISE. Department of Defense spokesperson, Lt. Col. Audricia Harris tells CNN.

At this time, it does appear to have only been a drill and not a true incident.

Added:

CONFIRMED: No active shooter at Naval Support Activity Bethesda. Was ad hoc drill by tenant command.

At first when the story broke on FOX News, they claimed they thoroughly check it out and said it was 'Confirmed' that they had an 'active shooter' and that the hospital was on lock-down and everyone was ordered to stay in their rooms. They also mentioned 'Code White'. About ten minutes later they apologized claiming it was only a drill, that there was no active shooter.

News stations/press listen to scanners and that's the way they get most of their information. They should get a confirmation from an actual person but often times they don't.

Many government and public safety agencies have a bad habit of conducting exercises/drills and they don't make the appropriate announcement over their radios, "This Is An Exercise".

Yes, kind of what happened a few months ago here at Wright-Patterson Air Force base in Fairborn, OH. But, there was an accidental weapon discharge here that was called in to 911 by someone at the base hospital who had not been informed of the drill. It was a mess. I agree, and have to wonder if there has been some kind of policy change to that effect, that there should be some sort of announcement prior to the exercises. If not, it should be. Good topic for a military think tank, I would think ;)
