Between 5.615 & 5.620 , What is it?

I have not listened to shortwave in years and picked up something on SSB. It appears to be on 5.615 - 5.620.

I did a search on the net and found someone else asking the question back in 2006, but no one replied to him.


He heard the same thing, 2 tones , and some kind of talk, but I can't quite tune in.

if I had to guess you probably heard Gander Radio on 5616 kHz USB mode.
The 2 tones you heard was most likely a SELCAL check.

That must be it. I was able to get the frequency to sound good at about 5.619 SSB.

I heard American Airlines mentioned and most of the time could only hear the Control Tower.
