Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

So I set me f9 to dual watch using menu 7. Works great. But when I use menu 34 tx mode, it seems it doesn't do anything a/b/off all seem tto transmit on the channel last selected. Anyone else seen this issue? Or, am I just a dumb ***?

Thanks.

Menu 34 works in conjunction with Menu 7.
If you want to monitor 2 channels at once then set Menu 7 to "ON"

Now because of how the Baofeng is setup.
Whenever A or B goes active, the Baofeng will default to
TRANSMIT on that Channel.
So, Menu 34 can be set to "OFF" "A" or "B"

I'm not 100% but you might want to set Menu 34 to your
choice of A or B. Then set Menu 7 to "OFF"

Spugeddy is really close with his response. With menu 7 TDR on, the radio will "listen" on both A & B frequencies. If Menu 34 TX is set to "both", when you push the PTT button, the radio will transmit on the last channel that had a receive signal, regardless of the which one is actively selected. example: TDR is on, you are selected on channel B (the lower one), and the radio receives on Channel A, the next time you push the PTT button, the radio will transmit on Channel A.

If you set the Menu 34 TX to A, the radio will only transmit on A, B will only transmit on B. If you set this menu to off, the radio will transmit on whatever channel is selected, as indicated by the arrow
