While I understand that it will most likely be encrypted, does anyone know if this system is up and active yet?

It seems like BGE is migrating away from the IDEN system. Any one has more background on the timeline of the system? I see that the first of the several FCC licenses were approved: WRDX921 860.3625 861.1875 861.6875 861.9875...

I have not seen anything on the air up until Oct - I think they were shooting for Nov - I’ll look again. BGE has a site in Annapolis, thus a strong signal.

855.6125 is still on the air, and still a 25kHz channel, so no P25 yet. The frequencies associated with the new license in the Annapolis area (WRDY686) are dead atm.

I used to listen to them all of the time before they went IDEN and couldn't be monitored.

It seems like it's taking an awful long time for this changeover.
