Driving down the Kona side of the island I see a steady stream of container trucks with 800 or 900 antennas on all of them. I have searched the 800 band and hear nothing other than control channels for the Maui P25 system and crickets on 935-940. Any ideas?

Likely a DATA system tied into the Cellular 800 networks
or used for AVL

Thought of that too and it is possible, but most of the AVL/ELD devices I have installed or been around use internal antennas for the cellular, some have used an external puck for the GPS. Some of the older ones used a combo GPS/Cellular antenna, but these weren’t that.

Container trucks in the Hilo area are using 854.5125, 857.0375 and 858.1125 (call sign WPKK745 registered to Mobile Telephone and Paging). Truck traffic is very active after the Young Brothers barge arrives at Hilo Harbor. Mobile Telephone and Paging has additional licenses around the island: KNNG859, WNVR751, WPEP381, WPFF711.

They are definitely using 800 LTR, both dispatch and interconnect on the Kona side as well. I have found three 800 freqs that belong to one system, with their LCN's. Running LTR Logger and looks like I am missing one freq/LCN still.
854.2625 LCN 1
858.1625 LCN 9
860.6125 LCN 17
??? LCN 5

brief conventional freq hit on 859.0125 with a DPL.

Thanks, time to fly home now :-(
