Well, so far what I've found is that my 396 has locked on to 857.9625 as a LT control channel. The signal strength bars flash on and off and an ID:0-21-134 comes and goes regularly. When I program that TG in to the system, the radio says "bad ID". That's the best I can do for now, I'm off to Yellowstone. Federal freqs here I come.
Haven't been down to YNP yet this year, but last year I heard P25 on the listed freqs. Update us on ENC or other good comms. I just got back from vacation in Upstate NY( Sodus Point). Great to hear someone from NY is in the area.
