OK, I know BHMPD's HT's have 16 or so channels that can be selected using the knob on top of the radio (I've seen an officer do this to go to PD-EVENT1 AKA CH-6). Here's the ID's I have for each preset "channel". Anyone know what the ID's are for 13 - 15?
CH-1: PD-NORTH / 50384
CH-2: PD-EAST / 50416
CH-3: PD-SOUTH / 50448
CH-4: PD-WEST / 50480
CH-5: Airport / 50512
CH-6: PD-EVENT1 / 50544
CH-7: PD-EVENT2 / 50576
CH-8: PD-EVENT3 / 50608
CH-9: PD-EVENT4 / 50640
CH-10: BHAM Towing / 52720
CH-11: PD-TAC1 / 50704
CH-12: PD-TAC2 / 50736
CH-13 ?
CH-14 ?
CH-15 ?
CH-16: PCALL / 2289

Bill that file work for you??

Paul, The file works but I'm still not receiving the whole system. At my location in northeast Jefferson County the only talkgroups I receive on the Bham/Jeffco system is Bham Fire dispatch ,Bpd East,JCSO Center Point and occasionally BPD north. What I can't figure out is why my radio receives sporadically especially when I clone my friends new Pro96 from mine and the radios sitting side by side mine is not receiving a thing and his is blaring away.I'm going to try the bham file out on my Pro2096 tonight as I ride around the county and see if its any better.......................Thanks Bill

The 2 Dave's can correct me if I'm wrong, Pcall channel is used for Private Calls between radios.

Steve, Pcall is used as a mutual aid channel for the agencies that are on the Jeffco/Bham system. I have heard pursuits going into other jurisdictions or an officer reporting something that is out of his jurisdiction to the proper agencies such as wrecks or crimes in progress...............Bill Wall

Bill as you may have not noticed, not that it wil make a difference the system is split into 2 bank, County on 1 & the city & fire on the other peruse the file in win96.. it worked for me so not sure what could be wrong. its osunds like maybe antenna problems is all i can think of or loose BNC on the scanner?

Oops, sorry about the Pcall goof. I was trying to do 3 things at once and screwed all 3 up.
Again I apologize for the goof.

Bill,
I have had that problem before. I simply reprogrammed my radio and everything cleared itself up.

Dave

Thanks for the suggestion Dave, I sent the Pro 96 off to Fort Worth to get checked out.I loaded the file that Paul sent me into my Pro 2096 and it seems to work fine.Nowhere near the dead spots that the Pro 96 had. I still cannot receive the all the talk groups out here in Clay but the ones I do are loud and clear.I'm starting to look hard at the new GRE PSR 500.

I was just curious what channels 13-15 were used for (if they are used for anything). I have NEVER heard anyone mention anything about those "channels". I wonder why they left PD-EVENT5 out of the preset lineup?

The XTS-5000 can have 256 channels.
Birmingham PD ZONE A has the 16 channels shown above, but what about ZONE B,C, D,E, F etc... I bet they also the fire talkgroups as well as everything else...
If you look at the top of the radio, It has a three position toggle switch labeled A,B,C plus you can access it from the keypad to go own to the other Zones beyond Zone C.

Might want to at least double that 256 number. Last I knew, it was way above 512 (680 maybe?)

I don't know what order they are programmed in the radio, but the last time I counted there were a little over 100 TG ID's in my list for Birmingham PD. I don't have the names for all of them, though.
