High Intensity Community Oriented Police Patrol

Each unit is a two manned unit - they patrol the public housing projects in Birmingham. Each unit is assigned a particular housing project. They answer all calls in there and are proactive in the project making sure crime/prostitution/drug activity stays to a minimum, making informants, talking with people, etc. On evening and Day shifts though they usually end up being pulled to answer calls on other beats because the shifts are understaffed.

Hey Dave -

I looked on your site. Where exactally are the police pictures? Couldn't find a catagory for them. I found some general polcie pictures scattered about. Are they in one particular place though?

Thanks!

William... I apologize for the confusion. I'm building a catalog which isn't on the site, yet. Once it's nearly complete, I'll make a page for it.

Thank you, William! You're too kind... I'm planning a make-over for the site to make finding pictures easier. After two years of posting pictures, some tend to get lost or hard to find.

Thanks for the bike update! I'll look for it. Add Motorscout 566 and 570, too. I have a buddy who sent me a picture of 566. I think 566 has been trying to hide from me. :)

Oh yeah, I didnt notice those were not listed.

114, 115
214
314
415

All OF THOSE ARE CSO's at their respective precincts.

The bicycle designations out east, although they are not all occupied are
256,257,258,259

The wreck coupe, (aka wreck car) at east is 262 during the day, and 263 during the evening.
The wreck coupe in the south precinct is 361 all shifts
The wreck coupe in the north precinct is 161 all shifts. (sometimes there is a 162 that works wrecks, but only rarely... its more of just a utility car)
If west is lucky enough to have a wreck coupe, his number is 461
