Approx 10:30 am friday, an Ocala Police dispatcher sent out a call for a stabbing victim at Blichton Station apartments in Ocala... as police arrive, they enter the doorway and find a person with multiple stab wounds, possibly including the neck, and they report to dispatch to request to have the Ocala Fire Rescue respond code 3 stat. They then request HELO a minute later. Also requested, is the E.O., Major Crimes, and a Detective. The on scene officers inform dispatch that the knife is still in the victims back.

The victim gives the name of one of the possible suspects. The victim also informed officers that the suspect is a black 19 year old, who fled the scene in womens clothing, a red and grey dress, including high heel shoes ! The officers have alerted dispatch to have two central unit cruisers circle the area to try to locate the individual wearing the womens clothing. The dispatcher did a check on the possible suspect, and it turns out he resides in the same apartment complex, and he is being looked for at this time.

Most of the radio transmissions are currently on TGID 16 on the Ocala PD trunked system. TGID 16 is ocala pd channel 1 (pd west)

At 11:01 the E.O. is putting up crime tape and the BOLO is still underway for the individual wearing the womans clothing. A landing zone is set up for the HELO.

Bizzarre - indeed, for this neck of the woods

Whats bizarre? The womens clothing? If you think that's bizarre, then don't come to NYC and walk around 42nd street. LOL

I have seen alot of Bizzarre events in NY, I was a fire fighter there for around 17 years. I have seen a few Bizzarre events take place in sunny Florida, but usually not to the extent of what I witnessed back in NYC.

I was born and raised in NY. Lived there since 1964, until around 11 years ago... worked there, in Manhattan, and have been at 42nd Street many many times... even visited SHOW WORLD a few times. But this is Bizzarre for central Florida, especially where we live in Ocala. This is horse country, in fact, Ocala is the horse capital of the world. I just didn't expect to hear this particular event unfold on the scanner... the way it played out, the guy in womens clothing was caught a short while later. It's sad to see someone get stabbed multiple times , for anything , but its Bizzarre for a cross-dresser to be in this neck of the woods. LOL, glad he's caught, hope he gets what he deserves... in jail :)

I do live in said complex and I can assure the readers NOTHING of the sort have happened here. This is a peacefull comunity that the only noise and ucckus you hear is the children playing on the sand box. I fail to see why someone wants to throw and talk trash about this place.

food for thought

Greetings nieghbor, I see that this is your first post on RR... your very first post. I assure you, this event took place, as I monitored it, as it was happening, live, on my scanner at home. ALSO, since I see that this is your first post, you may be new to RR and not familiar with the site... if you read above, the previous posts, as the very first one that I posted reporting this event, you will see that this event took place in July of 2010. This is NOT a recent event, and if you read the first post, you would have noticed the date stamp of the posting. How long have you been living at this complex? Do you monitor your scanner to keep up with the happenings in your nieghborhood? I do, and I like to keep informed of whats going on around me. It's 2012 and recently, you may be experiencing a better living atmosphere due to police presence and an active community, but I assure you, this incident took place two years ago, and I reported it as it happened because of the bizarre nature of the events as they unfolded. Best wishes to you my friend, and I hope the community offers you the safety that you desire for you and your fellow nieghbors. Welcome to RR.

Just my .02

Being in the Multifamily Industry, I have a feeling a staff member (probably leasing agent) is having issues with prospects coming across these kinda posts in Google/other SERP's, and is trying to combat the issue by posting. (I did like the lovely mental image of "the only noise you hear is ucckus and children playing in the sandbox" )

This type of thing is quite common.

yes, I suppose that is possible, considering the ONE and only post submitted was left by a newby, on a submission posted around 2 years ago. I would entertain future comments from that person regarding this issue, but I think it's revelence is now mute. I tend to believe that they made the statement before reading the link that I had posted in my submission regarding the event... I posted a link from the Ocala Star Banner, therefore, the remarks made by this new member can only carry so much validity.

Greetings there..
Well I been living here since 2007, and really cant tell you I have witnessed such incident. It may have happened, but since this is a close knit community where everyone almost know evryone, I would have heard of it them, things like this are something BIG in this town where NOTHING of that sort ever happnes..

mater of fact, I think this is the first reported "crime" I have heard about in Ocala Since I moved here from EAST LA now, that a diferrent story altogether carnal..

As for police scanners.. no, I tend to shine from those hehe I cant ever imagine me or my buddies with such a device following the cops to see what up in the hood, altough you may have a good point there, is a way to find out what they are up to. But in ocala? well hardly worth mentioning.
Thanks for the Info tough, and yes you are correct. I didnt see the date of the post and tough it was a recent thing. But belive you me.. comparing to where I come from, this is a sweetes place in the world, knock on wood

Take care

as far as Ocala being a quiet safe place, and nothing rarely happens... I reported the Ocala plane crash yesterday afternoon, 60 seconds after it happened... I pulished the first post regarding the tragic incident in the Breaking News Now column... alot happens in Ocala, and this forum was designed for scanner enthusiasts, like me. If you don't own a scanner, and are not involved in one way, shape, or form with communications radio's, use this forum as a tool of interest, but be sure to post only what your knoweledgeable in. This website is filled with fact and radio knoweledge, posted here by many many members who are experienced, or who are beginning to become familiar with radio's, and scanners. I too am surprised you chose to become a member of this type of forum, but if it now interests you, I bid you best wishes.

Thats very true, Idont a radio enthusiast nor I go around propagin bad news and upseting the peace of the comunity where I live sensasionaliting event with a common tabloid effort. The reason I registered here was in order to be able to respond to that" stabing by a drag queen" Just shocked me that I never was aware of that or maybe happened when I was sleeping. Im one that desnt stay all night with a camera or a comunication device spying on the neighbors to see what they are up to, but I dont frown on those who do. Everyone has their own life style, some more dramatic than others. The paparazzi life never apealed to me.

I shall withdraw from this forum and wish all wel in your"hobby" or whatever is that you call what you do, and since YOUR interest DONT conflict with mine, I think we can practice the good neighbour bit.
Be well

First, just a tip for the future. Don't sign up for a forum, and imply a senior member is lying or made something up. That, sir, is just bad form. In all honesty, I can't believe you "slept" through a giant medivac helicopter landing just yards from you. (But that's just me) Also, if you want to imply someone is wrong/lying, please do a Google search before doing it.

He didn't do that. He simply reported what happened. If you have a problem with sensationalizing stories, please write to the news media who wrote hundreds of articles about the event.

Neither do we, but your condescending tone sure sounds like you think we do, and frown on what you believe we do. Most of us have family members who are cops, or are cops, who want to hear our friends, and family are safe.

Again, just do a Google search before wasting your time. (Or more accurately, Imply a gentleman, who's been a member for 4+yrs. is making stuff up.) I think your time is better spent on the CONNECTING SINGLES site lugvonfalk About me

ok, lets clear up a few things here, for the good and well being of all posters to this thread... lugvonfalk may have mis-interpretted what our website represents, we all know that Radioreference is not a tabloid style interest website, its for sharing what we know, and for learning about what we dont know regarding two way communications, thru scanners, radios, computer aided communications, and other forms of radio used in industry, but more importantly used in the Public sector for Public Safety communications. We are in a hobby, which keeps us stimulated, and I guess lugvonfalk was stimulated by part of a post he read, because his concern was that it happened close to his home. Without investigating the reported incident, he decided to form his own opinion, and a belief that such an event could have never happened in his nieghborhood. Well, truth is, it happened, it's documented, and it was unfortunate to the victim... if lugvonfalk had owned a scanner radio around that time, and happened to be awake, or actively monitoring local radios systems, as we do in this sometimes exciting but never boring hobby, he might have caught the action as it happened, and would have had first hand experience with the situation that took place. As it stands, lugvonfalk now understands that this event did unfold in his community, and hopefully he is aware that things do happen in and around our Ocala community that often seem to baffle and amaze even us long time scanner enthusiasts. I am hoping that lugvonfalk can now see the appreciation we have as scanner hobbyists, and hope that he can see the respect we hold for law enforcement personel and the safety of our community. After all that is said and done, here in this thread, it does seem that lugvonfalk can understand the reasons why this form of website exists, and I am glad to see his last post reflects a small but meaningful appreciation of what we do in this hobby... as he stated, he would be moving on, and wished us well. Best wishes to you too, and I hope you find peace and happiness and safety in our community... Ocala is a small city, but it has a big heart, and it's a very busy place on the police radio airwaves. Your welcome to visit my home, and I will show you what a scanning radio is all about, and then you will see just how much goes on, in and around our safe nieghborhood. Peace to you all, for all who participated in this thread, this thread is now pretty much closed.

My apologies if you found my reply as offensive, and after re-reading the last line, I can see your point.

The "Im one that desnt stay all night with a camera or a comunication device spying on the neighbors to see what they are up to, but I dont frown on those who do" line kinda got my goat. (as it felt like a parting shot)

NOWEF, I did not find anything offensive in your reply regarding this thread, I'm ok with how you put together your follow-up, just thought that since he bids us farewell, there was no logical sense to allow anyone to let it go on any further. It's my understanding that he bowed out gracefully from this thread, and thats quite respectable on his part. Your ok with me, I'm ok with you, and frankly, I'm ok with lugvonfalk... I think he has a better sense as to what we're all about now, and I wish him the best. Maybe one day, when scanner prices come down a bit, he might be curious about things in his nieghborhood, and maybe then he will understand that it's not spying and make a scanner purchase. When he hears sirens up the road, or see's flashing lights passing by his home, he may become curious, as we are, and he may find himself wanting to know whats going on around him. If he continues to read threads on this site, he may become more familiar with what we enjoy, and someday may have something good to contribute to this site. Have a wonderful evening my friend, and Happy Scanning !!
