I stopped by Metro Airport on Friday to look for some tanker activity. I found Tanker 163 (Bae-146) and Tanker 131 (civilian C-130) come in to the USFS Tanker Base. Tanker Base freq is 123.975 MHz. in addition to the other Metro freqs of 118.6 MHz Twr and 121.7 MHz. Approach & Departure uses 126.1 MHz. Later in the day I was in Pueblo West for a photography show at a friend's house. I got there early and listened to the Air - Ground Ops on 169.2 MHz. Quite the show!

Wow, awesome pictures! I wasn't aware of that Tanker Base freq, great to know. I live near BJC and I somewhat routinely search the VHF airband, but I haven't stumbled upon 123.975. Maybe it's not used very often.

Usually they report inbound to let the base know their ETA, fuel state, and any other info. Only used during times when we have fires in Colorado where Broomfield is supporting the effort.
