As BK / Realm does not have its own forum I am hoping this is the correct place. Admin any chance we can get a BK forum? Plenty of those radios out there.
My KNG2-P800 has firmware 5.5.0h and RES 5.5.4
Recently a few new TG popped up so naturally i updated my radio.
on two different systems. 1 being EMS Dispatch (console audio) and another being PD dispatch (again console audio), and these being on two different systems, the dispatchers audio are way up there.
The field units both portable and mobile on these channels are all about the same.
And for the most part all of the other radio traffic i monitor has normal levels so up until now i have never needed to adjust the audio levels.
Problem is when i am trying to adjust them, nothing changes. Still out of balance on the dispatch consoles on those two channels.
In RES i left the default -22 for Average Voice Level. I have tried a combination of checking and unchecking the Automatic Gain Control box. Which is supposed to enable or disable the Average Voice Level.
I leave Noise Suppression turned off as i feel the audio is better with it off. But for testing i have tried a combination of the two boxes on an off again with no noticeable difference. When that dispatcher talks its shreekingly loud.
I have gone as far as to use -80 (it goes from 3 to -100 with default from factory at -22) and tested at 0 with the same results.
So any other KNG2-P800 users out there have any tricks or fixes for this?
I do have RES 5.6.0a and firmware 5.6.0a saved. But when i used it i quickly found Bluetooth would not work on the radio. So i went back to firmware 5.5.0h and RES 5.5.4 However i dont use BT all that often so if its been fixed in 5.6.0a i could go that route.
