Anybody listening to this? They are using about a half a dozen different frequencies/GID's and two different bands.

Interoperabolity at its finest.

I remember a chase in 2009 involving a motorcycle that went from rural pott county into council bluffs and then on across the river into Omaha. Iowa state patrol airplane couldn't talk to council bluffs or Omaha pd. It was pathetic. ISP pilots were giving info to Atlantic who was on the phone with Omaha pd who relayed it to a car...

It's operator error - has nothing to do with the radios.

Should have gone to Aid, LEA or maybe even IOWA. All are patched to the RACOM system

Some were on AID, some were on LEA, some were on BASE, some where on RACOM TRS, some where on their own county dispatch channel, some where on POINT(dispatchers only). Those are the only ones I can personally confirm.

I have never heard IOWA on the RACOM network.

I did hear a Black Hawk deputy call for ISP on RACOM.

21 agencies involved in the hour and half long chase.

A good Commander or Dispatcher would have moved all traffic to Aid or LEA. IOWA is not allowed in bases so not a good choice since dispatch couldn't hear it. I mentioned IOWA because it is an "interop" channel.

All that aside, it was a good time listening!!

Tama County cars had to get info from dispatch who was being updated on point from Black Hawk. It was the same thing yesterday with the guy who escaped from a Black Hawk county jail and ended up in Toledo.

This was the same guy that lead police on a chase yesterday. Reminded me of a movie - he just kept going and getting away! All the radio traffic sounded calm and cool though :)
