Blackstone, MA Police & Fire Frequencies

My own town of Blackstone MA is so weak of a signal I can't ever tell if I am hearing Police or Fire while the towns around me come in great. Can any one give me a hint as to what might be wrong. I am guessing the freguencies I have been given are not correct.

Blackstone Fire = 159.330 565 Primary ops
Blackstone Police = 155.790 110.9 Ch 1 Main

Can any one tell me if these are the correct frequencies?

I use a BC246T with a Discone antenna.

For Blackstone Fire, try 453.9625 PL 97.4. This appears to be a new primary frequency or a UHF link to 159.330. Blackstone Police should be on 155.8725 D-343.

Blackstone Police are indeed on 155.8725 D343. You should definitely hear this in town. It is a repeater. As far as outside of town, it does not really get out that well.

Blackstone Fire I have not monitored on 453.9625 97.4. I believe that is indeed a link from the transmitter to dispatch. The primary frequency is 159.330 D565. This is not a repeater and thus you will only hear the transmissions if they are close enough to you. You should hear Blackstone Fire Control all the time as I can hear it through most of Southern Worcester County. As stated though, you will only hear the apparatus or portables if they are in your listening range.
