• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello, was wondering if anyone can help me with obtaining firmware R02.21.01.1001. I purchased an Xpr7550e from good old eBay and the code plug is password protected. The guy said someone in his uber left it and was making contact and never heard back and decided to sell it. The serial has been scratched out and the radio is pretty much in mint condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Additionally I do have a Motorola account.

Obviously a stolen radio, as previously mentioned. If you can return it to the seller for a refund, you should. Were you aware that the serial number had been scratched out when you bought the radio?

Was the missing serial number visible in any of the posted pictures in the ad?

Yah right, someone left it an Uber, and you believed that? Did you check the sellers previous activities/history?

I recently purchased a XPR7550e on eBay. One seller stated that he had several brand new units in a box but did not list any of the feature sets for the radio. So, I sent a contact email to him asking the question and never received a response. Either he didn't have a clue on the question I asked or he didn't get the contact email or sold them all. Regardless, I didn't wait very long for his response and went to another seller for the same radio that listed all the features and had a great history and I have had good luck with him and his protects from previous sales.

It appears the the seller that didn't respond either pulled his ad for the several new radios in the box and sold them all or wasn't legit.

Could this be the radio the OP purchased? Seller is in Florida, feedback score of 5, laughable description. Sold April 9th.

Item description from the seller

Clearly stolen. You're on your own.

I did not check his history and that was a big mistake on my own. I’m gonna reach out to Motorola as I was able to get the serial number from Trbo tuner and see if they can get the owner info and send it back. That’s the right thing to do.
