Whenever I want 5000’ ASL spectrum monitoring I have to drive there. The 100 miles line of sight coverage is nice at that altitude. ;)

Sorry, rant mode on...

I apologize to @APX8000 if they are a personal friend of Lindsay's and this was an inside joke, but why does everyone seem to be so concerned about Lindsay's personal business?

It's his company, he created it, busts his ass to keep it going and among other things, there is no one else performing this service, on this level to the hobby. What he does with his hard-earned money is his business, just as what anybody else on this board does with their money is their business. Oh, and I forgot mention deal with predatory lawyers, so that we have a forum to discuss the radio hobby.

Businesses exist to make a profit. They make a profit by adding value to customers.

Rant mode off...

My response below is not intended to be an attack, please don't take it as such!

I personally have not seen any posts regarding concern for Lindsay's personal business, of course I know it happens as admins have backed such claims, but I'm only going off what I factually know and have seen (or in this case, not seen), which I think is fair

At first it felt like your response was a direct reply to APX8000's comment but then became broad encompassing "everyone" or any post/comment made regarding Lindsay's personal business. In regards to to APX8000's comment:

During my initial read through of the thread I myself laughed at the comment made by APX8000, I didn't read it as an attack or any disrespect intended toward Lindsay, I thought it was pretty funny myself, it really goes to show how successful this company is and that's great that he's able to afford that magnificent beast and enjoy his time off doing what he loves. I'm sure many of us can share that same desire.

What he does with his hard-earned money is his business, just as what anybody else on this board does with their money is their business.

I agree 100% that it's his business, his income, and his choice on what he does with that hard earned money, and I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you on that, to be fair, in this instance (because this is the only one I'm knowledgeable of), Lindsay himself made a post showing off this expensive and beautiful plane, surely knowing he's opening himself up to such comments, whether the comments are intended jokingly or not by the author of them.

I'm sure the admins are used to putting up with such bs and Lindsay is no stranger to it. Nor is he stranger to the greedy men wearing suits that live in the lies of the court room.

Fly on!

WTF? We’re not even 10 posts in.

Anyways, I wish everyone had the opportunity to sit at that elevation/altitude and enjoy the RF range of the hobby we share. $20 in gas provides me with a 5000’ antenna and plenty of VHF/UHF chatter. Although, I did get a visit from two Fish & Game wardens after they spotted the antenna array. I had FT8 scrolling on a tablet and they realized I was not tracking dogs, but just a nerd freak hobbyist.

I think all will be good if Lindsay offers RR members free flights in his new plane. I'll be notifying him next time I'm in his area to schedule my flight. Y'all make your own arrangements!

And the plane better have antennas for all bands and coax run to the passenger seat. Don't make me bring my 3/4" hole saw.....

I would be happy with a Cox E-Z Flyer with .049 engine. I would strap my Baofeng to it and run the mic/speaker line up the control strings.

Cost of aviation fuel today, I can no longer afford to fly. Nice way to get that long range.

DHS will surely contact you if you weaponize the E-Z flyer with that ā€œb*mbā€ of a radio. The RFI of ma** destruction.

The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Today ā€isā€œ Friday.
