I was in Cherry Creek this am. Still many many side streets that have not seen a plow. Not to mention that King stupids and Not so Safeway are all ready out of food. The big hairy question is...what did everyone learn from round 1?

Here we go again

Tha Colorado’s Emergency Operations Center(EOC) has been activated, due to the impending weather conditions in
The EOC is currently working with the Governor’s Office, Colorado Department of
Transportation, Colorado State Patrol, Department of Military Affairs, and local Emergency
Management offices throughout the state to determine available resources. Resources will be deployed as necessary to contend with the current weather conditions. The EOC is expected to stay in full operation until further notice.

I imagine the county EOC is doing the same, but since I'm at work today and not there, I can't swear to it. The vast areas of eastern El Paso County always pose quite a problem during these types of incidents.

Jeffco: I-70 now closed Morrison to Idaho Springs and CSP Sgt advising 285 West of Lakewood should be closed but CDOT is trying to reopen.

And CO-93 Boulder to Golden also closed/blocked.

The CCIC people gave up and went home, so no warrant confirmations till further notice.

Also sounds like DIA is gone into SNAFU mode.

My son just called me from I-80, the storm is chasing him between Laramie & Rock Springs, radar shows it doesn't go much farther west than that. Now it is closed between Cheyenne & Laramie so it's good he made it thru there. He left Denver at 2PM

KIT CARSON - A 60-year-old tow truck driver was killed on the job after being struck by a car on I-70 on Thursday.

Colorado State Patrol says 60-year-old Joe C. Taterhorst of Burlington was struck by a 2004 tan Ford Taurus in the westbound lanes of I-70.

Troopers say 28-year-old Bennie L. Hoskins, Jr. of Denver lost control of the Taurus, hit Taterhorst, continued out of control and hit a blue and white 1991 International tow truck which was parked and unattended. The Ford finally came to rest on all wheels in the right lane of I-70.

Taterhorst was transported to the Kit Carson County hospital where he was pronounced dead, troopers say.

Troopers say Hoskins and his three female passengers, 27-year-old Latrina Burns, a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old were not injured in the crash.

Speed is a suspected contributing factor in the crash whereas alcohol and drugs are not, according to state patrol.
