If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Block reception from a specific radio ID

Hi everyone,

At on location we have two base-stations (DM4601e) close by, and they are both on the same channel; so when talking on one of them I can hear myself on the other one which is annoying.

Is there a way to block the communications between these two base radios without affecting the communications to the other radios?

Is there a way to block or blacklist a radio ID? so we don't receive from that radio.

Many thanks!

Not that I know of.

But, it should be possible to mute one when the other is transmitting by connecting to the correct pins on the rear connectors. Hopefully, someone who has set this up before can chime in.

In DMR mode, if you program both bases with the same ID, they should not hear each other.
We are using DMR and both stations are configured with the same Radio ID as you can see in the attached photo, but they still hear each other.

Please by ID did you mean the Radio ID in General Settings or another ID?

Thanks!

You can use an external speaker and build a simple "circuit" off the rear connectors that will mute the external speaker when the other radio keys up.

This method sounds very interesting, but I couldn't find any thread or resource online on how to connect two base-stations together with the rear connectors pins.

Can you please refer me to a site or a link?

Many Thanks

This solution is a little complicated for me, but I would still like to give it a try.

Can you please share a document or a link explaining it if you have.

Many Thanks
